Volunteering at Viles Arboretum offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature while giving back to the community.
Whether you have a passion for gardening, education, or conservation, we have a variety of roles to match your interest and skills. Volunteers can engage in activities such as trail maintenance, invasives removal, general landscaping and gardening, educational programs, events and fundraisers, research and conservation projects, and more!

Each opportunity provides you with the chance to gain valuable experience, learn new skills, connect with other nature lovers, and contribute to the sustainability and enrichment of our our beautiful space! We welcome volunteers for on-going or one-time opportunities or at one of our volunteer events!
Below you'll find our scheduled opportunities. These are specific projects, tasks, events, or other needs we have on set dates and times.

Scroll to see all of our opportunities, search for a specific opportunity, or click a month to see which opportunities are scheduled in that month. (You may notice the use of terms like ticket, buyer, order and event. This is because we use our event registration platform for our volunteer signups. Don't worry, you're in the right place!)
- Once you've found the opportunity you'd like to signup for, click or tap it.
- A new page will open. Scroll to read the description of the opportunity then click/tap the "Signup to Volunteer" button.
- If there are more than one date scheduled, a pop-up will appear. Click/tap the date you'd like to signup for.
- Hit the + button or enter the number of volunteers you'd like to signup for the opportunity, then click "Continue".
- Enter your information then click "Continue to Ticket Info"
- Depending on the opportunity, it may ask for additional information. Complete to the best of your ability.
- Click "Continue" to submit your registration.
- A confirmation page should come up. You can close out the page at this point.
- You should receive a confirmation email. This may include additional information or instructions about the volunteer opportunity.
- In the weeks before the volunteer opportunity, you should receive reminder emails.
